Looks like our favourite Cimmerian is now setting his sights toward Atlantis.
Jason Momoa is already confirmed to play the role of Aquaman in the upcoming Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice film directed by Zack Snyder. He joins a cast that already includes Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and screen newcomer Ray Fisher as Cyborg alongside Ben Affleck‘s Batman and Henry Cavill‘s Superman.
Like fellow marine monarch Sub-Mariner, Aquaman has been given the short end of the stick outside the comic books…the latter no thanks to his depiction in the Super Friends cartoon. However, thanks to Batman: The Brave and The Bold, Aquaman has got much of his respect back.

Compared to perennial emo sourpuss Namor, Arthur Joseph Curry has always been depicted as a big-hearted, good-humoured character not afraid to poke fun at his inadequacies outside the water.
For starters, Jason Momoa may not be as blond as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, but having grown up in Hawaii, he must have been a pretty good swimmer.
