Got to admit, I was late to the party (due to my current shift) but upon seeing the teaser trailer (thanks to a workmate) I was blown away.
I was impressed that Marvel was daring to break away from the overtly family-friendly mode of its new corporate owner Disney with Guardians Of The Galaxy – though the absence of a backless Gamora still rankles me (maybe it could turn up in the DVD release).
From the looks of it, Avengers: Age Of Ultron promises to be an even darker affair, as superheroes (and their egos) clash against each other while a seemingly invincible new enemy looms forth (nevermind if he looks like a rejected Terminator design). At one part of the trailer, Captain America’s mighty (vibranium) shield is shattered…which can only bode ill for the team.
What’s more, Quicksilver – the scene-stealing speedster from X-Men: Days Of Future Past – turns up here, along with his hex-wielding sis Scarlet Witch.
Please, Joss Whedon, Stan Lee and co., please, don’t fail me this May 2015!!!
