The Sorcerer Supreme sets his sights for the big screen!!!
Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock, Star Trek Into Darkness) plays Stephen Strange, a successful New York brain surgeon who figures in a car accident that paralyses his hands, affecting his practice (not to mention his ego).
Lo and behold, The Ancient One (a bald Tilda Swinton) summons him to her temple in the Himalayas and unlocks his hidden mystic gifts. He returns to the Big Apple as a true-blue Master of the Mystic Arts (with a beard on loan from the WWE’s Daniel Bryan), empowered and emboldened in his mission to defend humanity against all manner of eldritch and supernatural forces.
Along the way, he attracts the enmity of Baron Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a former pupil of The Ancient One who has sought the aid of dark forces to feed his jealousy.
Nice job with the trippy visuals, but how will the Disney-controlled Marvel deal with all that mad wild sorcery – pentagrams, demons and suchlike???
The magic begins November 4….
