It appears that Marvel Studios is going the Pulp Fiction route with the “Guardians Of The Galaxy” original motion picture soundtrack.
Given that Peter “that’s Star-Lord™ to you!!!” Quill is a big fan of throwback audio recording/playback devices, that might explain the album’s cover design.
